Finding myself in New York right now – all I want to do is eat Chipotle. Why? Because I love it. And I can’t get it in Bend.
It looks like the idea of a franchise is out. According to BusinessFranchiseWorld.com:
Of the nearly 700 stores, only eight are franchises, and the outlook is not good for more franchises being sold. All the rest are corporate owned. In large part, this is due to Chipotle’s Food with Integrity program – if the stores are corporate owned, then the stores can be controlled more readily, including mandatory suppliers for vegetables, chicken, pork and beef.
It’s time for a “Bring Chipotle to Bend” campaign. I noticed that there is a Facebook Group for just that purpose – but it only has 37 members. That’s not a movement. It needs to be bigger. Thousands of people. All demanding Chipotle.
Who’s with me?
